Last year, I resigned from my full-time job and took some time for self-care and healing. Along the way, I came across an opportunity to get certified as a Kosovo tourist guide, which I decided to take advantage of. And, boy, I thought I had explored my country!
I had been guiding guests and visitors who had reached out to me through social media or friends, so in my subconscious, it has always been there – this desire to promote my country (which I have done through this blog since 2017 and had been doing it even before through various events and initiatives while in the USA or South Sudan).
I enrolled in the GuideKS provided training for three months (October 2024 – January 2025) – in lectures and practice, and learned and explored various parts of Kosovo. Let me tell you – I fell even more in love with my country!
Many tourists skip Kosovo on the false impression that there’s not much to see – and I don’t blame them. Even locals (myself included) are not fully aware of all the cultural heritage there is to explore. Every day, especially now that I am more involved with professional tourist guides, I get to know facts and figures I hadn’t come across earlier.
So, what are you waiting for?
Come explore Kosovo with me!
